Events in Chesterfield From 28th September – 4th October 2026

As autumn arrives in Chesterfield, you'll find a selection of events offering opportunities for discovery and socialising. Your options range from exploring local produce to enjoying an evening out with music. You can begin your week by exploring the local marketplace, a tradition reflecting Chesterfield’s history as a market town. Throughout the week, opportunities exist to browse artisan creations, where local makers present their work. Consider a visit to the stalls around the Market Hall, where you might discover locally produced goods. Additionally, you can delve into music culture by searching through vinyl records, CDs, and other memorabilia. This presents a chance to expand your collection or simply enjoy the hunt for something new. These markets provide a chance to engage directly with sellers and perhaps uncover something distinctive. Be aware that parking can be busy on market days. Later in the week, for those seeking an evening activity, Chesterfield Theatres hosts a dedicated music event geared toward adult attendees. These events often take place in pubs and venues around the town. It’s an occasion to step out and engage with the town’s social calendar, offering a focused experience for those who appreciate music. Consider utilising Derbyshire Wayfarer bus and train day rover tickets to explore the surrounding areas should you wish to combine a local event with a visit further afield.
